The Fix has its own account on Twitter but doesn’t really tweet or engage outside of sharing new content on a daily basis. What is interesting, however, is the social media presence of its writers. Each writer’s feed exemplifies their commitment to not limiting their coverage and discussion to their articles, but continuing the conversation and engaging with their readers on a more intimate level digitally.
If I could incorporate anything about The Fix to my own blog, I would add a segment similar to “The Fix’s Ask.” I like the format of live-chatting with readers to get a direct sense of what information they’re consuming about my beat. That way, you get a better understanding for how the issue you may have a closer relationship with, in terms of sources and access, is actually affecting and being perceived by your audience.
