hi, i’m kési.
I’m a Journalism major, Sociology minor studying at Howard University in Washington, D.C.— born and raised in Acworth, Georgia.
Journalism is my first love, but a Twitter Town Hall I hosted my freshman year at Howard lead me to serving in student government and discovering my passion for digital storytelling and communications.
Right now, I am a Communications Intern at the American Civil Liberties Union of Georgia— having previously been a Fellow at Bully Pulpit Interactive, and served on campus as the Director of Communications for the Howard University Student Association and Content Director for Her Campus at Howard.
In addition, I am the founder of Better to Speak, a growing organization whose mission is to embolden people of African descent to share their story through content and community engagement initiatives.
From planning and executing social media campaigns to digitally capturing historical moments, my current goal is to continue learning as much as I can about how to best utilize digital platforms to tell great stories that build real-life communities that last.
